Most Aikido training is in pairs. | |
---|---|
We also work in lines to learn to adjust our throwing and falling to a variety of partners. | |
Some training is in small groups, based on age and skill level. These youngest ones practice their forward rolls on futons. Peer senpai model the movements, while an instructor coaches and keeps the training safe. | |
Some older, more advanced kids form a small group to practice randori (four-man attack). | |
Free practice: Students help manage their own learning. One has chosen to practice a technique with a seated pin. In background a senpai shows a kohai how to do back roll exercise. |
