Notes:
- K to 2nd Program: Although parents are not required to train,
a child's parent must be present throughout each class.
- Middle & High School Program: Students can freely attend any or all
classes at their grade level. It's all right for kids to arrive late for the
afternoon classes, given that it's hard for many parents to manage after-school
pickups and deliveries.
- Elementary School Program ( 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. )
Eligibility: The chief instructor will
arrange with more experienced kids case-by-case to mentor and assist in
classes for lower grade levels.
- The Bridge class for advanced elementary school kids provides a
smooth transition from Elementary to Middle School level Aikido
Location:
Sierra Aikido,

subject to change.
2 ) Private or Semi-Private Lessons
On request Sierra's instructors can provide private, or small-group, lessons or
classes by arrangement. Such special arrangements could be
- Psrt of therapy toward mainstreaming for children
with special needs, such as symptoms of Autism, Asperger's or ADD;
- Graduated program of physical exercise for children with physical
disabilities, such as obesity or muscle or joint problems;
- Gradual socialization with one or several empathetic older children
before participating fully in regular classes;
- Small group programs for homeschoolers; etc.
Fees are by arrangement, and range from $75 / hour for a few sessions to
$300 / month for ongoing study, depending on the frequency and duration of weeks or
months that lessons are required.
3 ) Summer, and Other, Special Programs
Especially during summer vacations Sierra conducts periodic seminars or
day camps of several hours duration focused on specific areas for both children
and teens, vacations, and adults. During summer and other vacations,
for instance, teens and kids ages 14 and up are welcome to train in any of our
adult classes. Two or more instructors at all times maintain an environment
for both beginner adults and teens to train safely with more experienced
students of all skill levels.
